Athena, end to end: a walk through a working portal.

Sign in + the morning view

Hi, I am Athena. This is Northgate Panel Works, a practice plant with a year of records shaped like real plant data. Let me show you around.

This is the morning view. Before the first cup of coffee is gone, it answers one question: where should I walk today?

The four things people do every day sit one press away: quick entry, an observation, an incident, an action item.

The Energy Scan reads this plant's recent records and lights up the kinds of energy showing up in them: gravity, motion, mechanical.

And Where To Walk names the departments where exposures are showing up right now, with the records behind every line. Nothing here is a guess.

Quick entry (typed, never submitted)

The fastest door is Quick Entry. Say what you saw in plain words and watch what happens.

Athena picked the right checklist and filled in what she could. Every choice she made is listed below, and you can strike any of them. Nothing saves until a person reads it over and presses submit.

An observation happens

On screen: ON THE FLOOR · An observation happens

Recording one takes about a minute. Watch.

This is the plant's own checklist, in the plant's own words. First, where the work happened.

Lockout was solid, so that one is Protected. No name of who was observed, ever. The record is about the work, not the person.

Line of fire was clear too. Tap through what you saw, good and bad. The safe marks matter as much as the catches.

But the machine guard was off. Barrier means something in the workplace kept safe work from being possible. That word carries weight here. Watch what it does.

A Barrier asks for the story in the observer's own words.

Submit. This works on a phone in the field too, even with no signal.

Saved, numbered, and on the record.

The chain reacts

On screen: NO RETYPING, NO CHASING · The chain reacts

An action item opened itself from that Barrier, carrying the comment word for word. Nobody retyped anything.

Give it an owner and it is real work now: assigned, dated, tracked to closure. Nothing is ever deleted.

And the matching incident report opened from the same press, exactly the way this plant defines it. One observation, three records, zero retyping.

The reviewer's seat

On screen: CLOSING THE LOOP · The reviewer's seat

Here is the review, right on the record. Rate it, say thanks, mark it reviewed. The observer sees the feedback on their own home page.

And the status follows. The observer filed it, a reviewer read it, the fix has an owner. That loop is the whole program.

All the classic numbers stay: participation, at-risk trends, department rollups. And every cell here is a door. Click a number, get the records behind it.

Athena reads

On screen: READS, NEVER SEES · Athena reads every record

Athena reads every observation for the kinds of energy that cause serious injuries. The wheel is lit by this plant's own records, and every count opens the records behind it.

And here are her findings, each one carrying the worker's exact words. These are the SIFp exposures: the moments that could have been the bad day.

Every finding shows its work: is the energy serious, was someone in its path, did the control fail. She is advisory. A person decides what happens next.

She also keeps score on the controls themselves: which guards held, which failed, and where a glove was the only thing between a person and the energy.

When something she reads needs a person, it lands here, in the Safety Inbox: a crew going quiet, a serious exposure nobody has looked at, fixes running late. Checked daily, like mail. And when nothing needs you, it stays quiet. A quiet inbox is the honest answer.

Your team can also walk the floor with an energy assessment and log hazards as they stand in front of them.

And notice the severity scale. SIFp marks the hazards with serious injury potential on every walk. If your program uses a different word for these, Athena adopts your vocabulary, not the other way around.

The monthly meeting

On screen: THE FIRST TUESDAY OF THE MONTH · The meeting builds itself

The monthly program report assembles itself from the live records: observations, at-risk share, serious-injury energy. Every number is a door into the records behind it.

And she drafts the talking points: what went quiet, what landed on serious energy, each with the rule that put it there written out. Computed by stated rules, decided by people.

Every month lives here. Once a report is presented, it freezes: the minutes of record, exactly as the room saw them.

And when the meeting wants slides, it is one click. A real PowerPoint file, speaker notes included.

Close + call to action

And when you have a question, ask in plain words. Every answer is drawn from your own records and shows them, so you can check her. She advises. Your people decide.
